Home of the Cosc Research Group
Cosc’s mission is to ensure that all levels of government work together to address the issue of violence against women and girls. Planning and executing a programme of rigorous research into domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence in Ireland is crucial to achieving our mission.
Cosc’s research section aspires to create a programme of research that includes both descriptive and explanatory work in collaboration with all statutory and non-statutory organisations operating in these areas. The development of a robust empirical foundation for comprehending the scale and character of domestic, sexual, and gender-based violence in Ireland is a key objective of this programme of work. In addition, the evidence foundation required to guarantee successful service delivery for persons who have been affected by domestic, sexual, and/or gender-based violence and for the prevention of these crimes can only be generated by well-designed and timely research in these areas.
