Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP) have launched updated 'Domestic Violence: A Guide for General Practice'

 The ICGP recently published and launched its updated guidance document for General Practitioner’s titled "Domestic Violence: A Guide for General Practice". Funding for the updating of the document was received from Cosc, The National Office for the Prevention of Domestic, Sexual and Gender-based Violence. Input to the document was received from an advisory committee which included representatives from many organisations including the domestic and sexual violence sector.


The document supports GPs in improving the quality of care for those who have experienced domestic violence; provides advice on how to ask a patient about violence; how to respond to disclosures and signposts appropriate supports.
